Artist Statement

My work includes collage, oil painting, acrylic painting, alcohol markers, and sketchbook pages. My style is bold and blocky, with visible strokes that give my work texture. In my sketchbook, I draw whatever catches my interest at the moment, usually skulls, people, and lots of color. I get most of my ideas from things I see around me or from images I find online.

When I start, I like to start with a big splash of color and then build on top of it, letting the piece take shape naturally. But when I paint, I need a clear goal, or I’ll struggle to finish. My process is a mix of going with the flow and making sure I have a direction.

Even if my art has meaning to me, I want people to see it in their own way. Everyone brings their thoughts and experiences to a piece, and I like that. My influences come from all over, bits of old paintings, random images, and things I can’t always name. My work is about exploring ideas and letting the viewer decide what it means to them.
